The Quincy Neighborhood

Commonly known as the “City of Presidents”, Quincy is the birthplace of Presidents John Adams and John Quincy Adams as well as Continental Congress President and famous patriot John Hancock. Located immediately southeast of Boston on the shore of the Neponset River, Quincy is a major component of the Greater Boston region. A self-contained city with a bustling downtown and numerous shopping, dining, and entertainment options, Quincy is also tied in to the MBTA subway system serving all of Boston and Cambridge. Major routes 93 and 3 pass through the city offering easy access to Boston as well as points north and south. The Quincy shoreline provides Boston Harbor’s southern border and also features the Harbor’s largest beach, Wollaston Beach. Despite its urban character, over 20% of the city’s land area lies within The Blue Hills Reservation, a scenic state park with ample walking and hiking trails.
